Objective:   Move both beads next to each other on the same loop, (same side), without using any force, then put them back as they are in the picture.

Description:   The Block & Tackle puzzle is sometimes referred to as another "payback" puzzle, (something one would give to another to 'return' a favor of undelight).   Once in hand, it is hard to put down and can therefore eat up a lot of time, (great for long trips).   This one can   'string you up'   if you are not careful.   After a few minutes of manipulating the cord and beads, you will realize that there are not that many movement options available and the solution is still not in sight!   Proceed slowly and persistantly and the light will eventually show at the end of the tunnel...

Each puzzle is supplied with an "Objective Sheet" that explains what it is that you are supposed to do.   This sheet also includes a picture/drawing of the puzzle in the unsolved condition, (similar to the one at the top of this page), so there is a reference to look at when putting it back together.
